Tucked away in Seaforth Place, London, lies The Onion Garden, a not-for-profit community hub founded by Jens Jakobsen. Driven by his passion for plants, Jakobsen created this vibrant green space, transforming a small concrete corner of Westminster into a garden open for all to enjoy.
Home to over 150 plant species, from fragrant herbs to vibrant wildflowers, The Onion Garden thrives as a unique ecosystem. This evolving space welcomes everyone to enjoy its beauty, volunteer their time, or even host their own events such as knitting courses and art exhibitions.
If such a project can flourish in the bustling heart of London, imagine the positive impact it could have in our own communities here in Malta. The Onion Garden serves as an inspiring example of how even the smallest urban spaces can be transformed into thriving green havens.
