FAA welcomes the Planning Commission’s decision to refuse the proposed development for a 5-storey tourist accommodation development along Pieta’s picturesque Sqaq ix-Xatt.

Representing FAA, Perit Tara Cassar argued that due to the site’s particular and prominent location, the proposed extension would create a 4 storey blank party wall towering above the Msida Marina ruining all views towards and around this quaint distinct street.

This disproportionate development would have even blocked views of the protected Grade 1 St Luke’s Hospital that presently sits distinctly atop the Guardamangia hill, an iconic vista worthy of protection in itself.

The Planning Commission acknowledged these arguments and refused the development.
